Questions
The things teams ask us
If yours is not here, call or text (612) 236-5323. A pin specialist picks up.
Timing and deadlines
- How long does the whole thing take?
- Count back about 49 days from the day you need the pins in hand. That covers 7 days for design and your approval, 21 for production, 14 for delivery, and a 7-day margin so they arrive the week before your tournament rather than during it.
- When do we have to order for our tournament?
- Pick your tournament on the Fargo page and it will tell you the exact date, along with how many pins your roster needs. Several late-season tournaments share one deadline that is a long way earlier than their dates suggest, so it is worth checking rather than assuming.
- We have missed the deadline. Is it too late?
- Probably not. No rush surcharge on the pins. Late orders cost you shipping, not a premium. What changes is how the order ships rather than what the pins cost. Call or text (612) 236-5323 and you will get a straight answer the same day — we would rather tell you honestly than take an order we cannot deliver on time.
- Do you charge extra to rush an order?
- No. There is no rush surcharge on the pins themselves. A tight deadline can mean a faster delivery service than the standard one already included in your price, so it can cost more to get them to you, and we will tell you what that is before you commit.
Quantity and cost
- How many pins do we need?
- Most teams work on 12 to 15 pins per person for a travel tournament, and 15 to 18 for a big destination one — counting coaches, who trade as much as the kids do, plus about 10% spares. Tell the calculator your roster and it does the arithmetic and shows its working.
- What do they cost?
- It depends on three things, in this order: how many you order, how big the pin is, and whether it does anything — a spinner, a dangler, glow in the dark. The calculator on the quote page prices your exact combination instantly, including the design, the tooling and standard shipping and handling. Sales tax, where it applies, is added from your delivery address before you pay.
- What does shipping cost?
- Standard shipping and handling is already inside every price the calculator shows you, so there is nothing to add for normal delivery. Two things can still change the final invoice: sales tax, where it applies, which is worked out from your delivery address before you pay; and a faster delivery service, if your deadline needs one. We tell you about either before you commit.
- What is the smallest order you will take?
- 50 pins. The price per pin at that size is high and we will say so, but we will make them.
- Is there a setup or mold charge?
- No mold or die charge on team orders. The design work and the tooling are part of the job, not a line on the invoice.
- Can we do different colors for different age groups?
- Several color combinations from one design cost no extra — a different color for each age group, or for the coaches, is straightforward. It is one of the easiest ways to make a pin feel specific to each team without paying for several designs.
Artwork and design
- We do not have a design. Can you still help?
- Yes, and it is most of what we do. Tell us the team, the colors and anything the kids are keen on, and we will draw something. You will see a proof before anything is made.
- What kind of file do you need?
- Anything. A logo, a phone photo of last year’s pin, a screenshot, a picture of a drawing on the back of a schedule. We have never turned a file away for being the wrong format — sorting that out is part of the job, and telling you your file is wrong would be a strange way to earn your order.
- Can the kids design it?
- Yes, and those are usually the best ones. Photograph the drawing and send us the photo. We turn it into something that can be made in metal while keeping what makes it theirs, and they will recognize it when it arrives.
- Can we use an image we made with AI?
- Yes. Bring it. One thing to know: a normal enamel pin needs a raised metal line between every color, which is why AI artwork with gradients or a painted background comes back looking fenced-off and wrong. Those designs are better made as a Full-Color Image Pin, which is printed instead, so blends stay blends. It costs the same.
- Can we use an NHL team logo or a cartoon character?
- Not unless you have permission from whoever owns it. Professional team logos, college marks and cartoon characters are somebody else’s property, and you are responsible for having the rights to anything you send us. We check before anything reaches production, and if there is a problem we will tell you early and help you get to something that is yours.
- How many changes can we make to the design?
- As many as you need. Revisions are included and there is no charge for them. The only cost is time — each round adds a day or two, so sending every change at once gets you there faster than one at a time.
After you get in touch
- What happens after I send the form?
- Someone will reach out within 3 business days — usually sooner — to discuss designs, timeline, pricing and next steps. A real person reads it, not a queue and not a bot. You will also get an email straight away with a link back to your own inquiry, so you can add artwork later without filling anything in twice.
- What if I do not hear back?
- Call or text (612) 236-5323. We would genuinely rather know than have you waiting — if something has gone astray we want to fix it, and a missed message is on us rather than on you.
- Where do the pins get delivered?
- To you, not to the rink. Give us the address you want them at and we will get them there ahead of your tournament weekend.
- Can we reorder the same pin next season?
- Yes, and it is quick. We keep your design, so a reorder is usually a short conversation about the season dates and the quantity rather than starting again.
Still not sure?
That is what we are for. Tell us the team and the tournament and we will work the rest out with you — a quote does not commit you to anything.
